Practical examples

Ways to use Split PDF

Save one chapter

Enter 4-9 to create one PDF containing pages 4 through 9 of the source document.

Separate several sections

Enter 1-3, 4-8, 9-12 to create three PDFs. They download together in one ZIP file.

Before you start

  • Page numbers refer to positions in the PDF, starting at 1. Ranges must stay within the document and cannot overlap.
  • Choose one PDF up to 100 MB. This tool makes a separate output for each comma-separated group; it does not combine those groups into one PDF.

FAQ

Common questions

Which page range format can I use?

You can combine single pages and ranges, for example 1-3, 5, 8-10.

Does splitting change the original file?

No. The original PDF remains unchanged on your device.

Will multiple ranges become one PDF or several?

Each comma-separated page or range becomes a separate PDF. One range downloads as a PDF; multiple ranges download together as a ZIP.
